In its long history, Varese boasts a great many prestigious results both at national level, where its teams have conquered innumerable titles, as well as at international level where major Cups and Trophies have been amassed. Basket, ice hockey, handball and volley-ball are but a few of the sport disciplines in which the Province has been seen to excel.

In the individual disciplines, Varese has recorded many national, European and world titles: from archery to rowing, from golf to swimming, from fencing to athletics through to artistic gymnastics and cycling.

A list would be too long to quote here: it may be sufficient to remember the last Olympic Games in Greece in which numerous athletes that hail from Varese took part! Indeed a beautiful… team, of which but a few of the leading names are quoted!
