Cislago - The Visconti castle - first construction of the majestic castle

The Castelbarco Visconti castle in Cislago dates back to the 11th century. In 1297, it became a property of the Visconti family. In 1620, after the Landsknechte destroyed the area, it was rebuilt in a austere style, and was turned into a residential villa. Since 1716, the castle has been the property of the Castelbarco family. What is left of the medieval castle are the bases of the side towers and the typical U-shaped layout.
