Induno Olona - The Medici Castle in Marignana
The village of Frascarolo was already fortified in 1160. The archbishop of Milan, Umberto, established his winter field here during the fighting between the people of Milan and the supporters of the Empire. In 1490, the castle became the property of the Sforzas, and subsequently of Giovan Battista Medici, the Marquis of Marignana. In the 16th century, it was converted into a residential villa. The large square-plan villa was refined with the modifications that were made in the 1500's, which gave it an elegant appearance. Inside, we can find beautiful rooms with decorations and rich furniture. In the park, there is a holm-oak and a cork tree, both very rare in this area. (Private)
