Lakes

The province of Varese is famous for its many lakes. The best-known is Lake Maggiore, shared with the region of Piedmont to the west, and with Switzerland to the north. Lake Lugano is also important, and it is on the border with Switzerland too. Other lakes, though smaller, nonetheless represent evocative locations from both natural environment and tourism points of view, offering a range of opportunities for leisure activities and relaxation.
