The village Ardena
The village Ardena, above Brusimpiano on Lake Ceresio, is a peaceful settlement in a lovely green setting characteristic of the Varese subalpine district.
A walk that presents no particular difficulties leads up to the village, starting from the lakeside, to one of the finest viewpoints in the area, with a panorama that ranges over the entire bay of Lavena Ponte Tresa, and across to Malcantone, in Switzerland.
Climbing Sella di Ardena is an excellent way of discovering the attractions of this location, and there is already a good view from the square in front of the parish church. A bridleway then leads upwards, in the shade of forests of alder, elm, willow, beech and wild cherry, in a cool, magnificent natural setting in a wide valley, with luxuriant vegetation.
