The Oriano Park Centre

Environmental education and research in the heart of the Ticino Park.

The Oriano Park Centre is located in a small and beautifully preserved rural village in the moraine hills of the northern part of the Ticino park. It works in the areas of environmental education and research, by means of a nature museum and a project for the reintroduction of a protected species, the black stork. Visitors to the centre have the opportunity of learning about the distinctive characteristics of the river environment, not just from a point of view of nature, but also as regards the many activities performed by man, including navigation and irrigation in these areas by means of dams and canals. One immediately understands the importance of a correct management of water resources.
