Monte Monarco

This peak that dominates the Valganna area offers many pleasant walks, amongst viewpoints in a natural setting and looking out over the landscape.

Monte Monarco is part of the Piambello group in the subalpine hills near Varese. The mountain lies in the municipal areas of Valganna, Induno Olona and Arcisate.

A walk on Monte Monarco, starting from, for example, the municipality of Induno Olona where the path starts at a location named Montallegro, consists of a route of about an hour, ideal for all ages, in a lovely natural setting, in the shadow of forests to the north of the town of Induno Olona.

Before reaching the summit of Monte Monarco, a belvedere with wooden tables represents an ideal spot for a break, and here there are splendid views of the surrounding area, and more specifically over the lakes Varese, Monate, Comabbio and Maggiore. In addition, on the summit there is a chapel, near which local festivals are held. The chapel has a terrace looking towards Valganna and the Campo dei Fiori range.
