The Azzate belvedere

One of the finest viewpoints in our province offers an unparalleled view over Lake Varese, with particularly evocative sunsets.

The Azzate belvedere, opened just a few weeks ago, is in the like-named town on the banks of Lake Varese. This new viewpoint is a splendid terrace looking onto Lake Varese, and it is one of the finest panoramic spots on the lake. Near the belvedere there is a square, with, at the centre, a large bust of industrialist Antonio Ghiringhelli (one of the most famous textile industrialists of our province) sculpted by Mario da Corgeno.

The square is at the foot of the town's old centre, and it represents an element of continuity between Lake Varese and the gentle, verdant-green moraine hills around Azzate.

The piazza has white paving that seems to glisten in the light of the sun. There is also a fountain with water jets, some benches, and a green area with a playground for children.
