Strà di caver (Goat path)
An excursion by BMX bike or on horseback enables visitors to discover the rare beauty of these locations in the Luino district, with the added attraction of local culinary specialities.
The Luino Valleys Mountain Community, as part of the project "Interreg IIIA", launched a plan named Strà di Caver, implemented from 2002 to 2005, designed to enhance the area's tourist opportunities by promoting the pathways in the border district linked to local agricultural resources. These paths, named "Strà di Caver" (goat path), run in the area of mountains inland from the Lombard shores of Lake Maggiore. They offer the chance to discover landscapes, many of which have remained unchanged for centuries, and which are often wild and challenging. In addition, in these areas you can enjoy typical local products, such as the cheese Formaggella del Luinese, considered as a great delicacy in the valleys.
The "strà di caver" are superb for BMX cycling, or for horseback trekking, and they link up with sections of the 3V - "Via Verde Varesina" (Varese green way) route.
